Being an insomniac ever since her parents divorce, she finds herself befriending fellow insomniac Eli who helps her relive the childhood she never had, even how to ride a bike, while staying with her father, his new wife, and little sister, to escape her mother who thinks differently about a lot of things in life, the summer before she goes off to college. She soon learns everyone isn’t good at everything, even he,r and may even make a few friends while she stays in Colby.
