At Face Value

by Emily Franklin
Category: romance
A modern-day retelling of the classic "Cyrano de Bergerac," a play about a man with a prominent nose who is in love with the beautiful Roxanne. The Cyrano in this book is a girl called Cyrie Bergerac.
"Cyrano de Bergerac" is a classic tale of love and tragedy. There is no tragedy in "At Face Value." It's a happy, fairytale ending. It completely ruins the original play. Also, Eddie is nothing like the character that he is supposed to be. He is supposed to be Roxanne, a clever, manipulative woman. Roxanne has faults. But Eddie is just a Gary Stu (term for a male Mary Sue). Don't read this book. Read "Cyrano de Bergerac," please, but not this. It's not worth your time.

More fun than throwing up, but not much.
