I thought this book was excellent. It was so exciting and thrilling, sad and happy. This book was so realistic. It is a definite must read and I would rate it 3 stars. I would recommend this book to teens, Age 12 to 16. It is also a great book for adults and older children, aged 9 to 11.

Candyfloss is a book about a girl named Flora, nicknamed by everyone as Floss. Floss’ parents are divorced, so she lives with her Mum on weekdays and her Dad on weekends. Mum’s new family, Steve (Floss’ stepfather) and Tiger (Floss’ stepbrother), give Floss a big surprise on her birthday. They are moving to Sydney, Australia! At first, Floss is absolutely thrilled and dreams of a wonderful, exciting life in Australia. But she soon realizes that she will have to leave her Dad behind, and she suddenly dreads leaving. Floss’ Dad wasn’t coping too well. His beaten, filthy café, Charlie’s Café, looks like a dump and isn’t attracting any customers, leaving him with some big financial problems. When Floss sees how lonely, troubled, and desperate her Dad is, she decides she cannot leave him. Though her Mum is extremely reluctant, Floss knows she has to stay with her Dad. At the beginning, she and her Dad have heaps of fun, just the two of them. But her Dad is completely hopeless when it comes to housekeeping and properly looking after Floss.
I thought the book was a fantastic read. It had me hooked from the beginning; I couldn't stop reading it! There is one little bad thing though; this book has an open ending. An interesting, funny book, Candyfloss is a must read for all girls.
