All That Remains

by Bruce Brooks
Category: realistic
the book is about lost. it exhibits deep reading and touches upon deep yet true subjects. it consists of 3--novellas--in which each are different. the first of the novellas is about a couple of cousins whose aunt judith has died of AIDS but wants to be cremated. yet the law prohibits diease victims to be cremated and have to be buried in a special cemetary. to deceive the law they get a deer to put in a sarcophagus so it will look like she is inside but they are planning on using the kiln to cremate her remains. it is a great story filled with love and devotion. the second of these novellas is abut a slick teen that does not get along with his cousin and promises to his dying uncle to raise him properly --to make him a gentlemen. however before he does this he has to understand himself. the last of these novellas is about a group of 3 golfers who take on a fourth player. the fourth player is a girl however she has amazing arm and is a very good player. however what they dont know is that her bookbag contains the remains of her deceased father and with them taking her on as a fourth player they learn about teamwork and determination. i liked all three of the novellas but my favorite was the first one--all that remains
