Alanna, a young noble, doesn’t want to become a lady; she wants to be a knight. So she trades places with her twin brother and goes to become a knight. She meets many obstacles along the way.
This book was awesome. I bought all of her other books including the one that just came out Trickster's Choice. It is a must read. I couldn’t put it down. I let my sister borrow it and she told me she was tired at work because she stayed up all night reading it, and she's 19.

A girl who wants to defend her realm and become something more than a prim and proper noble woman to bear and raise children; she wants to become a knight. She then switches places with her twin brother who wants to become a mage and learn to use his gift. But, as the realm sees it, women are not fit for the battlefield and Alanna must disguise herself as a boy.
This book was awesome! The characters were very well composed and created very well. This is an exiting book that kept me reading till 3 in the morning! All the struggles that she had to go through and hardships she had to endure had you pining for her all the way through! And the society was well structured and made me want to live there.

This book is about a girl, Alanna, who wants to be a knight. Her brother wants to be a sorcerer. They decide to switch places because they look really similar. Alanna befriends Prince Jonathon and the King of Thieves, George. When Alanna reaches the age of puberty she must go for help. George's mother helps her and he finds out she is a girl. The rest of the book is about all of her brave deeds and all her wonderful adventures.
This was an excellent book about a strong willed heroine. I loved it! This book is my favorite of the series it's in. The characters are so real like you feel like you know them! I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 10 due to some parts, but it's worth the wait!

I LOVED this book! Tamora Pierce made a heroine that was strong and smart, making all the characters believable. The plot is woven ingeniously, leaving the book in our memory forever. You can't read it just once. Check out the rest of the saga!
