Seventh grader Oliver Watson is way smarter than any of his classmates. At least that’s what he thinks, although, so far nobody else seems convinced. Oliver plans to use his evil genius to achieve world domination, but for now, he is content for others to think he is lazy and not particularly bright. There is one person Oliver would like to show up, however, his dad, who is always on Oliver’s case. When his dad brags about how popular he was in school, Oliver takes this as a personal challenge to prove his own popularity, by getting elected class president. While he plans to eventually rule the world, Oliver finds that ruling the school is entirely different. Will the campaign persuade others to finally see Oliver as he sees himself? The Kirkus review notes gross-out humor that will appeal to male readers, and calls the whole thing “creative and twisted.”
