Sixteen-year-old Nikki Donovan has just found out where her long-lost father is. Unfortunately, she has also just discovered who he is. A very mysterious, and very cute messenger, Michael, shows up to lead Nikki to her father. Michael reveals that Nikki’s father is the Demon King of the Shadowlands, the world that serves as separation and protection from the Underworld. Nikki is even further more stunned to learn that her father is dying, and he wants her to assume the throne. While she is slowly taking this all in, Nikki realizes that she has feelings for Michael. Nikki doesn’t know what to do about all of this, but she’d better figure it out fast, before that war between the Shadowlands and the Underworld starts up.
