A new kid in school tries to distance himself from the class bully, without becoming his next victim, in this compellingly true-to-life story. When Eric starts seventh grade at his new school, he is grateful that Griffin quickly befriends him. At first, Griffin strikes Eric as being confident, and popular, but soon, Eric begins noticing some less appealing things. He starts to realize that Griffin lies a lot, and steals. Griffin has a knack for getting himself into bad situations, and Eric sees where this brings out the bully in Griffin. Eric wants to stop hanging out with Griffin, but is afraid that doing so will turn him into Griffin’s next target. When the situation takes an even more dangerous turn, will Eric be able to survive the emotional and physical fall-out?
