Marcus is new in town, and without friends, he has plenty of time to polish his football skills, for the upcoming high school tryouts. While practicing, Marcus meets Charlie, an older man who seems incapable of being serious about anything, except for his love of football. Marcus is amazed at how good a player Charlie is, but then Marcus realizes his friend used to be a star linebacker in the NFL. Marcus learns that his competition for the first string quarterback position is Charlie’s son, Troy. But when Charlie begins showing ill effects from his own football career, will Marcus again oppose Troy in deciding how to help Charlie? The hits come hard, but the victories are sweet in this edge-of-your-seat drama.
